Leasecake hires former JLL Technologies exec as COO

Williamson formerly held leadership roles at JLL Technologies and other proptech startups.

Leasecake, a property lease and payment proptech, today announced hiring of former JLL Technologies executive Scott Williamson as Chief Operating Officer, according to a press release shared with FinLedger.

The company says the appointment highlights its continued strategic expansion and growth within the location management proptech segment, and follows the company’s recent $12 million Series A led by PeakSpan Capital in April 2022.

Through its technology the company provides centralized access to lease and location information, in order to help businesses streamline operations and follow new lease accounting standards, and says that his experience will provide Leasecake with an “indispensable asset” for its next chapter of growth.

“The big shifts during the pandemic drove home to our customers the importance of location and location-management services,” said Taj Adhav, CEO and co-founder of Leasecake, in the release. “We expect more change ahead, and Scott will be the tip of spear to make sure Leasecake’s customers are best equipped to fully leverage those services in the years to come.”

Williamson’s professional career has run for more than 30 years in the software and technology services space, ranging from executive management roles in startup companies including Quorum Business Solutions and ValuD Consulting, where he spent a decade as Chief Commercial Officer of workforce management.

Williamson co-founded ValuD alongside Gopi Latpate, where he helped expand the startup into a provider of IBM Commercial Real Estate software solutions, according to the release. Williamson became the JLL Global Head of Enterprise and Mid-Market Sales following its acquisition of ValuD in 2018.

Today, he says the proptech industry has gone through major changes in the past few years and now requires companies to provide immediate value for clients.

“Customers no longer want monolithic software packages that take too long to implement and return value,” Williamson stated in the release. “I look forward to helping the team [Leasecake] industrialize our internal and external processes so we can focus more on new customer acquisition while maintaining our already high customer satisfaction.”
