Ambient.ai announces Brivo partnership

Integration set to embed computer vision into Brivo's access control platform

Ambient.ai, a computer vision intelligence company, today announced partnering with Brivo to visually verify physical access control systems alerts and improve security measures, according to a press release.

The company says by integrating Ambient.ai’s automated intelligence technology, Brivo’s Access platform will be able to visually verify physical access control system (PACs) alerts to “reduce false alarms, accelerate threat response, and free up security resources to focus on legitimate security threats.”

The partnership is intended to tackle access control management as it becomes an increasing priority for enterprise physical security teams, with Ambient.ai saying that the average enterprise experiences millions of PACs per year which do not require human intervention.

Brivo Access has led the security industry in access control and access management solutions, equipping their customers with critical information about access points,” stated Shikhar Shrestha, CEO and co-founder of Ambient.ai, in the release.

“Our integration with Brivo allows the Ambient.ai platform to automatically connect with access readers to correlate PACs events with surveillance video feeds analyzed by computer vision intelligence. The result is a rich contextual understanding of surveillance events that enables accurate, automated alert dispositioning and the capture of access threat signatures not typically available through PACs alone,” Shrestha said.

By applying its computer vision intelligence technology to existing camera infrastructure, Ambient.ai says it delivers near human-level visual perception with context-aware understanding of threats to prevent serious security incidents.

It says that when combined with Brivo Access, it’s systems are also able to extract addition context from video footage and alert customers of addition threat signatures that may not normally trigger a hardware event or impact access security, like loitering or tailgating.

“Access control is a critical component of the smart buildings operations technology stack,” stated Steve Van Till, founder and CEO of Brivo. “Combining our cloud-based system with Ambient.ai’s contextual understanding of video footage will better enable our customers to improve safety operations and focus on the high-priority events that require human intervention.”
