PLACE, a “brokerage-agnostic” proptech company providing services like marketing, accounting, legal and HR to real estate agents, today announced launching 37 teams to expand into 35 states in the U.S. and Canada, according to a press release.
It says the new PLACE teams, representing four brokerages across 19 different states, have added more than $1.5 billion in sales and contributed over $40 million in gross commission income (GCI) revenue.
The company notes recent partnerships include Steve Pilkington and the Path Home Team of REAL Broker (closed $72.8 million in sales volume in 2021), the Building Dreams Team of Keller Williams in Washington ($97 million in 2021 sales volume), and the ROC Real Estate Partners of eXp spanning New Mexico and Arizona ($130 million in 2021 sales volume).
“Our focus continues to be on partnering with the top performing agents across the United States and Canada,” stated Ben Kinney, co-founder of PLACE, in the release.
He added that modern real estate teams need products to make the real estate business and the buying, selling and ownership of homes “easier” and profitable. To accomplish this goal and expand its platform, PLACE says it operates as a “broker-agnostic” platform and partners with agent teams across the entire industry ecosystem.
PLACE increased its headquarter employee base to 620 after receiving the “unicorn” status in 2021, which is a privately-owned startup that exceeds $1 billion in valuation. The company completed that valuation along with a $100M Series A round.
Following this funding it appointed new leadership, including Emiliano Delucia as Chief Technology Officer and Abby Powell as Chief Marketing Officer. PLACE also stated plans to double its partnership count by the end of 2022.
“On top of it all, we are expecting even more growth in the upcoming quarter with the addition of some stellar teams that represent over $1 billion in sales volume,” said PLACE co-founder Chris Suarez, in the release.
In other recent proptech news, Multi-Housing News released its “Top 50 Multifamily Property Management Firms of 2022” report with data from American management firms and the multifamily industry. Entrata, a multifamily proptech, appointed Scott Allan as its Senior Vice President of Sales.
