Matterport, a spatial data proptech that provides 3D cameras and virtual tour softwares, today announced its partnering to make TD SYNNEX its key distributor, according to a press release.
The company says the partnerip aim is intended to drive Matterport’s expansion in North America, and claims it will also enable the company to reach larger enterprises, delivering the “value of digital twins to their business.” Matterport also believes the partnership will drive technology adoption across the real estate industry, including management, construction and retail verticals.
“Joining the TD SYNNEX network is a tremendous opportunity to put Matterport in front of these larger businesses,” stated Jay Remley, chief revenue officer of Matterport, in the release. “We’re seeing strong adoption of Matterport technology across verticals and business segments from SMB to Enterprise.”
Remley also claimed that a single customer in the retail sector could grow employee productivity by 200%, decrease travel costs by 20% and decrease the cost of products like paper and ink by 95%.
The partnership will connect TD SYNNEX’s 150,000 reseller network that provides services to the technology sector and government agencies, with Matterport’s digital twin technology. Matterport is one of the 1,500 technology vendors in TD SYNNEX’s portfolio that prioritizes cloud, cybersecurity, big data and analytics, among other services. The release says TD has a total workforce of 22,000 people, servicing more than 150,000 customers.
“The demand for 3D digital twins continues to surge, and more and more companies have come to understand the power digital twins bring when optimizing operations, fostering remote collaboration, all while having the potential to drive down their business costs,” said Scott C. Barker, senior vice president of print solutions at TD SYNNEX, in the statement.
The release also claims that with a billion spaces to digitize in the U.S., it is one of the largest global property markets. The partnership will give Matterport access to a large customer pool in the new enterprise, SMB and agencies in the public sector, with TD SYNNEX as its distributor.
In July, Matterport acquired VHT Studios, a real estate photography and marketing service, to merge VHT’s visual media services with Matterport’s 3D digital twin platform and enhance home buying experience.
